When I uploaded 1.3.4, I forgot to add the screenshots that show the minimum interval had changed to 5 minutes. They still showed 30 seconds as the minimum interval. So the only change that was made in this release is updated screenshots on the apple store.
The latest version of gibbyTrip has been approved by Apple and it is now available on the app store. Here is a list of what’s new in this update:
When you start tracking yourself you will now see your route show up on the map. It was something I was messing around with and I think it turned out ok. In future updates I hope to be able to save the routes when you are done with them and then be able to view them on your phone at a later date.
The map will auto zoom in and out depending on what speed you are going. Again, just something I’m messing with. You can’t manually zoom in and out to see the whole route. Well actually you can but the map will snap back to the auto zoom within a couple of seconds. If you do or don’t like this let me know.
I have changed the minimum interval from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. This brings my app into compliance with the 2.0 API policy of SpotWalla. I’m looking into supporting the Track feature of SpotWalla. If you don’t know what that is check out the SpotWalla website for more details.
I removed the ability to have buffered messages tagged as custom messages on the SpotWalla map. I reworked the way I upload the messages to SpotWalla and in the process I broke being able to tag them as custom. If this is something you’d like back just let me know and I’ll look into it.
I removed the ability to show your closest friends on the map. I doubt anybody was using it and I don’t think it’s even supported anymore on SpotWalla.
I think I’ve made some progress in tracking down the GUI locking up when you leave cell range. I think it is still dropping a message or two but the GUI shouldn’t lock up anymore. That’s my hope anyway 🙂
