gibbyTrip 1.4.1 has been released!!!

I am a little late to the party but I have submitted 1.4.1 and it has been approved.  The biggest change in this version is social media integration.  You can now post your trips to Twitter or Facebook.  Now if you post something to Facebook you will notice that the page isn’t automatically filled in for you like it is with Twitter.  That is because the knuckleheads who run Facebook won’t allow a page to be pre-populated….don’t ask me why.

Anyway…..enjoy and happing gibbyTripping 🙂

    1. Bill, there is no way to change the 5 minute interval. When I first wrote gibbyTrip, SpotWalla didn’t care how often your position was updates. They have since changed their policy to limit position updates to once every 5 minutes. There is one way you can do it though. Create your trip like you normally do and then also create a Track. Track info is recored every 5 seconds. Track info is uploaded every 5 minutes. In SpotWalla, add your Track to your Trip and it will show up on your map. Hope this helps.

  1. Hey there. I am running 1.4.1 and so far am loving it. One question. I have the setting for “Disable gibby Trip from going to sleep?” Set to I think off. So the green bar is showing (I’m on an iPhone). Is that the right setting to make sure it keeps tracking? The reason I ask is that after some time, when I open the app back up to check on things, it is stating “tracking disabled” and I have to start tracking again. I am about to go on Butt Lite rally and want to be sure I don’t get penalized for dropping tracking and I don’t want to have to keep checking it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Peter, your settings appear correct. Even if you let gibbyTrip go to sleep it still should run in the background. The one thing I have no control over is if gibbyTrip is running in the background, the system could shut it down if your iPhone runs low on memory.

I have ran mine for upwards or 10 hours of a time (with a couple of those hours outside of cell range) and i havent had it stop tracking. That being said, I’ll look into it and see if i can spot something I missed.
